From the Broker

This listing is for an info product & subscription business created in April 2008 in the education niche. The Wordpress site features around 16 video training courses on internet and digital marketing, with a focus on video. The site earns from both product sales and subscriptions. This solid business has clear earnings and traffic history as well as nice year-on-year growth.

The business is not branded to the Seller's name. Their face and voice are used in the training videos and on the sales pages, but the Seller feels the customers are in no way attached to the Seller. Both the marketing and courses follow a "tell-it-like-it-is" format, so the Seller suggests keeping in line with that style will be more than enough to keep the customers happy.

The Seller enjoys creating courses every other month. This requires researching new ideas, making the course, creating the sales page and releasing the course to the email list. The Seller will provide training to the buyer and is also willing to negotiate regarding continuing to create new courses. The Seller suggests that a potential avenue for growth for the Buyer would be packaging individual training courses together.

The majority of the audience are newbies, but there are also professionals. They either already own a business and want to expand it online, or they want to make a career change and do stuff online. This means that a Buyer with a little Internet marketing experience under their belt could handle the coaching aspect. Outsourcing it to someone else is also an option.

Individual product sales generate the majority of the revenue and recurring membership sales generate the minority of revenue. The courses are promoted via a 3.5K+ subscriber email list. At one point, there were over 25K names on the list, but the Seller has cleaned the list down to the most engaged people. Many of the clients have also recommended the course to their friends and family.

While most customers buy the courses with minimal interaction, in the subscription portion of the business, members can ask questions via email or schedule online meetings. The average has been 1 or 2 email questions a week and 1 coaching session a month. These questions have always been very basic. In addition to the questions, the Seller publishes one new training video each month for members. To be clear, this is not a course, it's just a video talking about a marketing or a tech subject. These videos are usually about 20-30 minutes long.

The Seller has spent no time on SEO, paid advertising, social media or affiliate marketing, so these are all opportunities for the Buyer to pursue. The YouTube channel has been used as an instructional tool for the training courses, yet it does not provide any relevant traffic or marketing juice for the business. The Seller hasn't worked on it in two years. It has 47 videos, 2K+ subscribers and over 1MIL video views.
